Yury Cherkassky

Yury was born in 1905 in Smila, Ukraine.  Yury's father was Yakov Cherkassky and his mother was Leah Dashevsky.  His paternal grandfather was Grigory Cherkassky. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Solomon, Isaak, Sasha, Roza, Fenya, Manya and Ida.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 73 in 1978 in Odessa, Ukraine.

‌Yury and Faina were married.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Fred, Eduard and Shura.
