Leyb, known as Lev, was born in 1922.  Lev's father was Monya Drobachevsky and his mother was Charna Medovoy Drobachevsky.  His paternal grandparents were Haskel Drobachevsky and Riva Drobachevsky. He had a brother and two sisters, named David, Riva and Irina.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 71 in 1993 in New Jersey, U.S..

‌Lev and Shura were married in 1949.  They had a son and a daughter, named Alik and Lilya.
